from green to yellow to orange to red

i miss seeing trees. trees so full and vibrant.  it just started getting chilly here and only chilly, thats all. i decided to wear a sweater yesterday. i was really excited about it even though it got pretty stuffy and i started to feel my sweaty upper lip.  i have more winter clothes than summer and i wish i could wear them more.  they sit in my closet calling my name.  where is the fall? sometimes i open the window thinking i am somewhere else and then reality sets in and i am forced to close the blinds. i am here. am i supposed to be content? but it doesn't feel like home.

lately, i have been experimenting cooking with mountain dew. if you know my husband, you know this love. i made some mt. dew apple dumplings the other day. it made our house smell like fall.  it was short lived. i wish i could have captured that smell, especially for a day like today. i wish things didn't have to be a comfort to you. i am in need of so many comforts: cold weather, ice cream, t-shirts, candy, a good movie, my husband's touch, a familiar face, sweet melodies, cheese, pictures, time, a soft bed,  clean teeth, beautiful big trees.

What a lovely, nostalgic post. You have a way with words...you make me miss those things and I didn't even grow up with them!

Move to the NW. You will get cold weather. Trees. T-shirts. A familiar face: mine! :)
