things are starting to calm down on our end. we have packed up half our life and moved into retirement to take on our new job or as rob's mom would call it, our sabbatical. it was an easy choice to become the back up emergency responder for parkwood retirement. it cut our living payment by 3/4 and our simplicity is something to be cherished.
as much as we wanted to feel like kramer when he decided to move into jerrys' parent's retirement community in florida, it just lacks the feel. of course we've had the "oh gosh you're moving in, that's the best news i've heard all year" from one lady but, we are the young bucks on the block and can feel the heat. we are definitely not wanted by some.
my first saturday in the 3rd floor laundry room consisted of harassment by the guy with the box and discrimination by the lady in the rascal. i had quite the encounters that day and now have learned to do my laundry right before it closes at 8 or while they're all feasting in the dining hall at 5. we sill have things to learn and rob is still practicing not walking so hard (he can make our whole little apartment shake) and i'm really trying to remember not to stand right by the elevator door when it opens so i stop scaring the elderly.
i'm so excited for this experience and new story in our life.
