gravy suckin' pig

even though it was the 5th time i had seen this movie, a single tear still falls down my cheek at the very end when clint is singing in gran torino. i finished the movie by myself last night, but it always has the same effect on me. that's what i love about good movies.

my greasy monkey was teaching me a thing or two on the terminology that the guys use in the shop:

when a car has a problem, returns and comes back to be worked on again, they call it their wife's car. "you workin on your wife's car again?"

rob: "i'm pretty good at stories
me: "ya, your whole family is good at telling stories."
rob:  "no, no, i mean a car's story."
they have to log the story of the car or what all has been done to it while working on it.

"all i had was gravy." when he says this, i know it was a great day because gravy means he got really good work. and a gravy suckin pig is someone that gets a lot of good work.

and chasing cars means working on them all day, but making no money.

so let's hope i have a gravy suckin' pig husband who's good at stories and never chases cars or works on his wife's car!
