a little bit of leftovers on a Thursday

because...
my giant and i are dropping off our homegirls at nana and papa's house and we are headed for colorado. just the two of us.
you guys, we have not spent time like this for us since our honeymoon and that was 10 years ago. we will be celebrating our anniversary and enjoying the beauty He created.

i started packing last week. and each day i come over to the girls' suitcases and i see a new addition. today it's their piggy stocking hats. i don't think we will need those in the 90 degree heat, but imogen is insisting.

on thursdays we {feed the kids} at a local apartment complex, which means we partner with our local food bank who offers a free lunch program to kiddos in need and the homegirls and i help serve.  today, our craft was a hit. i brought with us one of the girls favorites, making magnets out of pearler beads.

we are also bringing this craft to nana and papa's.

i am blown away {daily} at how little other people care about others. i'm not talking about unbelievers, i cannot judge them with the same standards.
but my fellow believers, we are called to bring glory to His name.

i got to take my girls for two mommy/daughters dates this week. it's been long, long hours for my guy.
sometimes i get wrapped up and feel sorry for myself because he works so dang long and misses out on dinner times and bath times and bed times, but holy cow. we have so much. he gets to come home every night. i get to stay home with our girls. we have a house and cars and extra wheels and tires and car parts just in case {just kidding about the last part!} i am so very grateful for it all and please don't ever hear me different.
