leftover friday

we've had a whole lotta texmex in our house this week.  a night of tacos, some steak fajitas and chicken pineapple quesadillas last night. no complaints from anyone.

homegirl quotes:
"did you know i can eat 6 things for breakfast? it's ok. i get a tunny ache, but it's not that bad. sometimes it only lasts for a minute." -imogen

"can we play now or later?" -juno
"well, what about the baby Jesus?"-mira

"i saw a weally, weally, weal pider." -juno {translation: i saw a really, really, real spider.}

our greasy monkey has worked super late each night rebuilding an engine and putting it in a van that is going to help foster families.
he never complains. i admire him so.

it's so hard to make plans with kiddos. i feel so flakey. someone ends up sick or someone throws a tantrum and we have to cancel.

our giant has been having muscle spasms in his back and it's hard for him to sit. so on his day off we took him somewhere he could be on his feet and somewhere he has never been.
the dallas zoo! of course our favorite wildlife show wasn't performing and the monorail was way too long of a line so, but we got to feed the giraffes, ride the carousal and enjoy our time there.

since we were already down in dallas, we decided to eat somewhere new and fun for dinner. truck yard has three food trucks, a bar, live music and outside seating. the atmosphere was really fun, but the phillycheese steaks were just average. if we go again, we will try something different.

 playing outside today for recess. juno and her love of superheroes, while imogen and mira are playing princess dolls :)

our cooking project this week has been cinnamon rolls! we made 4 batches. the homegirls really do love to "help" in the kitchen. i let them, but gosh it's just so much easier and faster when they don't. but it's just like everything else in life, they will learn more and have a better appreciation for it, if they get to do it. i have to let my control go.

our greasy monkey is working late and the play i was going to take the homegirls to tonight is not going to happen. the dallas holiday parade is tomorrow morning and the lighting of denton square tomorrow night. plus we're celebrating a seven year old in the house with a family get together, wizard of oz party!

happy weekend.
