leftover friday

we schooled all week long because next week our pipi girl is joining the cast of the lion king jr. and our schooling will be a little off because of it.

so naturally we headed to the library to rent the lion king {the homegirls have never seen it.}
i had forgotten that way back when, this soundtrack was actually my very first cd i bought.

mira- "what are we having for dinner tonight?"
me- "we're going to babes after volleyball."
mira- "oh good, i need some babes in my life."

mira- "do only kids have pretty eyelashes and only adults don't and thats why they have to wear makeup on them and we don't?"

speaking of volleyball, here they are in action.

the homegirls decided they wanted to help with all the cooking projects this week.
first up: they wanted to make a feast
mira was my biggest helper, she cleaned and peeled all the potatoes and carrots, she smashed and made the mashed potatoes, cooked the mushrooms, made the gravy, mixed and help made the mini meat loaves and set the table.

juno helped make the sauce for the mini meatloaves and imogen made our {gluten free rolls} all on her own.
it was so yummy!

they also helped make pumpkin muffins, waffles, chicken burgers and smoothies this week.

even a knife cutting lesson was added in :)

my friend gina and i first met when i interviewed for a 1st grade position here in tx. we bonded over both having family in bozeman, mt and we've been friends ever since. she left the teaching world a year before i did and even our kiddos became friends. she's off to a new adventure in the pnw and i'm sad to see her go, but excited for her at the same time.

one last dance party!

my giant is busy helping a missionary family who borrowed a car from us for the summer and then family friends with their van.
grammy is keeping the homegirls :) and i'm planning on continuing to work on curriculum, homeschool stuff and cc games {as our cc orientation is just right around the corner} as well as overhauling the girls' rooms.
but can't wait for date night and taking grammy out for a long belated birthday meal.
happy weekend!
