leftover friday

our besties came from denver to visit us this week. it was super short, but we are beyond grateful they came out of their way. i love to have guests and a full house and people who love well.

it is so good for us to have deep meaningful conversations. i have really been missing that here.

i kept raking my brain for something to do with them in the city and not suburbia. and something with little to no cost.
jackpot: and all for free too!
dallas museum of art {which has a great kids area}
clyde warren park {which is a great park in the heart of the city, despite the food trucks not being there because of the rain}
we were hoping to catch a trolly ride {the the rain stopped that too}
and then off to happy hour and the best steak sandwiches.

our hideous huge ceiling fan that didn't really work in our family room has been replaced. and as imogen would say "it's like a whole new room."
plus, having air flow will be glorious this summer.

you guys, i flew our brother in law down from montana to help my giant concur the backyard last weekend. he was the only man for the job and the only person rob respects, knows will not judge and whose work ethic can only be admired. a huge shout out to cory for taking precious time away from his family and for jenn you offered and let him go. these homegirls can't thank you enough.

can someone please tell me why 3 year olds are so nasty. their attitude and ability to discipline is just awful. i want my mirabelle back.

best quotes of the week by mira:
mira takes a sip of water and says "it's so cold, it's so good, it tastes like marshmellows."

"i can't even put on my shoes because i can't even walk."

"your mommy is not the same as my mommy."

"i don't know any words."

homegroup, a greasy monkey who is working, a baseball game that hopefully doesn't get rained out, church and hopefully a little bit of rest.

happy weekend.
