leftover friday

i've been curious to know why you have to lose 30 lbs {or any weight for that matter} to look amazing? i hear it all the time {not about me of course} but so and so lost this much weight and now looks amazing. why do you have to lose any weight at all to look fabulous? what about the people who love Jesus with their whole heart? {isn't beauty found within? that's what i'm teaching my homegirls} what about the people who try and work hard day in and day out, who make healthy choices, who are not just following the latest fad diet or workout? what does amazing have to do with size? what about the people who put others needs above their own and use their time to do their best and give their best?
you see where i'm going with this.

why do we let the world tell us what amazing is?

you know what is amazing though?
this man right here.

his heart is my favorite. 

his touch,

his loyalty,

his love,

his confidence,

his will,

his fight,

his strength.

all of those things come within. but most of all,

those are the things he uses to honor our Lord and Savior, to make Him known.

11 1/2 years ago we were married on this very beach and i'm truly not making this up that every year just gets better. and it's not about our looks. healthiness, yes, but our bodies are going to fall apart and what will be left is our hearts.

i have a lot more to say about this, but i'll leave that for another day.

we went to our local coffee shop this morning for journal time and then we got to meet our neighbor's grandkids who are the same ages as the homegirls. so we played and rode bikes in the street for awhile. they were really nice and the girls love making new friends.

this week we have been busy with friends! and we even did some homeschool with them :)

tonight we are going to our first baseball game of the season {thanks park place lexus}, our greasy monkey is fixing cars tomorrow, dinner date with friends tomorrow night, church and rest on sunday.
