leftover friday

i'm so very grateful to be a mommy. and how i wish i could be a mommy again. but today, today i'm tired of mommying. it could be the upper respiratory infection i have, their constant need to be fed, this week's grueling 2nd grade math or the spiraling list of things that need to be done, but i want to curl up in a ball and lay in bed, in silence.
and really, i'm ok with doing that, but only for a moment. because these homegirls need a strong momma, one who loves no matter, will fix their bikes, get them something to eat, doesn't give in when tempted, puts away all the laundry, chooses joy and prays harder.

our giant has been working late and so sometimes we do school at night to pass the time :)

reading and review at our coffee shop.

changing out our summer clothes for fall/mild texas winter clothes

bike riding, waiting for daddy to come home and enjoying the coolness in the air.

homegirl quotes:

juno- "my leg is hurt. and i can't walk."
mira- "oh juno, how did you hurt it?"
juno- "i am getting older and it just won't walk anymore."

juno- "i'm so hungry and shitty won't share her apple with me."
me- "i cut the apple for you all to share."
juno- "well, i had some."
me- "well, how many slices did you have?"
juno- "i had 1,2,3,4,5,6. i had six of them."
😁

cooler weather is in the air and rain is in the forecast. mira's soccer game will probably be canceled tomorrow morning, but check out this cutie from her game last week.

happy weekend.

p.s. my giant and i are celebrating 12 years. and a very overdue date is in order.
