Leftovers

despite friends coming in and out of our lives, i am so very thankful for my very bestest friend, my giant. he always chooses me and is always on my side. i couldn't do life with anyone else.

labor day weekend, imogen finally learned how to ride a bike {despite the first thing out of rob's mouth "now, you're probably going to get hurt." - that didn't go over so well} it took lots of coaxing, building self esteem and some tears.
it's what fills our recesses at the moment.

our greasy monkey also resurrected his old van, pluto. it was just sitting in our backyard and was time to get it running again. he's missed it.

imogen got her first sting yesterday by a big old wasp. she freaked out at first and then was very brave. she even said "i'm glad i got stung so no other kids would."
that's {team stanton} right there.

team stanton {just in case, i haven't shared this before} is a choice the homegirls make that is for someone else or the entire family, and not for or benefitting themselves. there are quarters in a jar worth $25 and every time they get a {team stanton} they get to move a quarter over into another jar. once all quarters are moved over, they get to choose to do something fun with the money they have earned. we've went to the movies, ordered a pizza, gone to six flags or given it away.

also, right now, my girls will do just about anything for a piece of gum.

the heat is still upon us in texas, but we make the best of it. more bike riding, cheering on the huskers, church nursery and family cuddles.

happy weekend.

You're such a great mom, Tiff! Love the "team Stanton" concept. :) Thanks for sharing. Your leftovers are always a highlight for me.
