is it already friday?

with family leaving this week, i knew we would need a few days to detox. we've had long days of playing and our routine has been uprooted. i'm so thankful for the special time with cousins and aunts and uncles and grandma, but after almost the entire month of july...we are in need of normal.
back to completing everything on their chart before they can have screen time
back to naps every day
back to healthy eating
back to having a clean house
back to reading and being read to
back to us

i was able to go to the eye doctor for the first time in 4 years. i ended up getting two new pairs of glasses (for the price of one). you know, a fun pair and an everyday pair :) everything is so clear again, i am just loving it.

just when my giant finishes a project for another, two more come calling.

i am thankful every day for my washer. i absolutely cannot imagine doing laundry how they used to back in the day and how a lot of the world still has to.

if you get a chance to watch tramps on netflix, you should.

i know i am very far from always doing the right thing, but gosh dang, i am witnessing over and over again very close friends and family not go out of their way at all or choose love or choose to do something that doesn't benefit themselves.
it hurts my heart.

what so many of us don't realize is that this life is not about us or our comforts.
“all of life is war. the peace, comfort and luxury of life in America today are lying to us, lulling us into a spiritual nap, while hell hangs in the balance and heaven makes hell against evil.” -desiring God

homegirl quotes:
"i think it's a bruise and that i'm not actually bleeding when i bit myself. it's ok" - mira

"don't you just love my hair? i love my hair all day long." -mira

"mommy, i go poopoos 4 times. i go in the dark and in my nap time and all the time." -juno

"Sniff, sniff. I smell bees, in my nose."

"if i sing, how many people do you think can hear me?" -imogen

our giant is working + working on a project for a newly single momma. we will be trying to stay cool and packing to house sit for a staycation.
happy weekend!

Pics from Bernice {my phone}

We got to have our cousins for a sleepover and everyone had so much fun.

Juno finally filled up her potty chart and got her ears pierced:)

We handed our cold drinks to our trash guys.
And this is juno watching us from the window because she was (trying to) nap.

And we got to celebrate carters birthday early.

She woke up from nap and fell right back to sleep on me.

Juno and her refusal to wear a shirt.

I was making coffee and came out to find them like this. They said they were cold. And we were headed to the splash park today.
